GET READY TO APPLY: Submissions of Arabic literature and translation Banipal, Magazine of Modern Arab Literature Apply on their own site: https://www.banipal.co.uk/submissions/ This checklist: https://qualifyafrica.com/o/banipal-submissions-arabic-literature Built only from what the listing states. Lines marked (our advice) are ours. A short application, by our reading. 1. CHECK YOURSELF AGAINST WHAT THEY ASK [ ] for authors, work already published in Arabic. For translators, a translation from Arabic sent with the original text [ ] email the editor with no attachments, attachments are deleted automatically, or send by post 2. WHAT TO GET READY It asks for something outside the usual documents; read it below. In their words: "for authors, an email to editor@banipal.co.uk with details of yourself and where the work was originally published. For translators, the translation with a copy of the Arabic original. No email attachments." 3. DATES - No closing date is stated. - Openings with no closing date can close once they have enough people, so sooner is safer. (our advice) - On the date, the listing says: no window. The magazine warns of a slow turnaround, three to six months minimum. A job never asks you to pay to apply. A listing that charges shows the fee above, and it is paid only to the organisation. If anyone asks for money any other way, stop, and tell us: hello@qualifyafrica.com
