GET READY TO APPLY: Community Engineer (multiple roles and seniority levels) Canonical Apply on their own site: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/canonical/jobs/3275433 This checklist: https://qualifyafrica.com/o/canonical-community-engineer Built only from what the listing states. Lines marked (our advice) are ours. The application takes real work, by our reading. 1. CHECK YOURSELF AGAINST WHAT THEY ASK [ ] anywhere in the world, as Canonical lists this one as home based worldwide and says it is open to candidates across the globe, though it names no countries and says nothing about work authorisation or which countries it can pay into [ ] a public record of your work: talks, blog posts, or a GitHub profile [ ] experience with developer tools and open source projects, and familiarity with Ubuntu Linux or related technology [ ] willingness to travel internationally two to four times a year for company events [ ] strong written and spoken English 2. WHAT TO GET READY [ ] CV or resume (One or two pages. No CV yet? Our CV starter builds a plain one from your answers.) In their words: "CV and an online application through Canonical's job board on Greenhouse" 3. DATES - No closing date is stated. - Openings with no closing date can close once they have enough people, so sooner is safer. (our advice) - On the date, the listing says: No closing date on the posting. Canonical keeps roles open until they are filled. 4. WHAT IT COSTS YOU - The posting says work from home with global travel 2 to 4 weeks for internal and external events, and the application form asks you to confirm you are willing to meet in person two to four times a year, which needs international travel. A job never asks you to pay to apply. A listing that charges shows the fee above, and it is paid only to the organisation.
