This checklist: https://qualifyafrica.com/o/canonical-senior-software-engineer-backend-emea-2026
Built only from what the listing states. Lines marked (our advice) are ours.
The application takes real work, by our reading.

1. CHECK YOURSELF AGAINST WHAT THEY ASK
[ ] Based in Europe, the Middle East or Africa, as Canonical lists this one as home based EMEA
[ ] A university degree (the form asks for your degree result)
[ ] Proven Python excellence, large-scale web applications and databases (PostgreSQL a plus)
[ ] Travel internationally 2 to 4 times a year

2. WHAT TO GET READY
An online form; it names no documents. Some forms do not save as you go, so set aside time to do it in one sitting.
In their words: "An online application"

3. DATES
- No closing date is stated.
- Openings with no closing date can close once they have enough people, so sooner is safer. (our advice)

A job never asks you to pay to apply. A listing that charges shows the fee above, and it is paid only to the organisation. If anyone asks for money any other way, stop, and tell us: hello@qualifyafrica.com
