Apply on their own site: https://clarkesworldmagazine.com/submissions/
This checklist: https://qualifyafrica.com/o/clarkesworld-fiction-submissions
Built only from what the listing states. Lines marked (our advice) are ours.
A short application, by our reading.

1. CHECK YOURSELF AGAINST WHAT THEY ASK
[ ] an original unpublished science fiction or fantasy story of 1,000 to 22,000 words, in English
[ ] no AI written work, no simultaneous submissions, online submission only

2. WHAT TO GET READY
It asks for something outside the usual documents; read it below.
In their words: "one unpublished story of 1,000 to 22,000 words"

3. DATES
- No closing date is stated.
- Openings with no closing date can close once they have enough people, so sooner is safer. (our advice)
- On the date, the listing says: open on 8 September 2026. Clarkesworld closes for short periods when the queue fills, so check the page before you send.

A job never asks you to pay to apply. A listing that charges shows the fee above, and it is paid only to the organisation. If anyone asks for money any other way, stop, and tell us: hello@qualifyafrica.com
