1. CHECK YOURSELF AGAINST WHAT THEY ASK
[ ] Currently enrolled in a degree programme in biology, biophysics, chemistry, bioengineering, bioinformatics, quantitative biology or another human life sciences field, with at least two years of a bachelor's done and no later than the first year of a master's (not PhD)
[ ] A GPA equivalent to 3.75 out of 4.0, or top 5% of your class
[ ] You must be in Lausanne for the whole of 5 July to 27 August 2027

2. WHAT TO GET READY
[ ] References (Ask your referees now and send them the listing. Give them time.)
[ ] Transcripts (Ask your school early. Offices can take weeks.)
[ ] Essay, statement or proposal (Answer the question they ask, in your own words, with real examples.)
In their words: "The online application asks for a transcript, short personal and scientific essays, your top three lab choices and one letter of recommendation uploaded by your referee. It cannot be saved and resumed."

3. DATES
- Closes 15 November 2026, in 24 days.
- Ask your referees and your school for transcripts by 1 November 2026, two weeks before it closes. Others need time to write and send. (our advice)
- Aim to send it by 12 November 2026. Websites slow down near a deadline, and data runs out. (our advice)
