GET READY TO APPLY: Call for Expression of Interest: Internship Programme for Europe and Central Asia (REU) Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Apply on their own site: https://jobs.fao.org/careersection/fao_external/jobdetail.ftl?job=2601982&lang=en This checklist: https://qualifyafrica.com/o/fao-intern-call-reu-2026 Built only from what the listing states. Lines marked (our advice) are ours. The application takes real work, by our reading. 1. CHECK YOURSELF AGAINST WHAT THEY ASK [ ] a national of an FAO Member country, which every African country is [ ] aged between 21 and 30 [ ] enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree at a university listed in the World Higher Education Database, or a recent graduate [ ] studying now or recently graduated [ ] you must already have residence or immigration status in the country of the placement before it starts [ ] working knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish; no earlier FAO internship; no mother, father, sister or brother working for FAO 2. WHAT TO GET READY [ ] Cover or motivation letter (Short, written for this one: why this, what you have done that fits.) It also names something beyond these; read their words below. In their words: "An online profile on the FAO careers portal, a letter of motivation, and evidence of attendance at a recognised university or a copy of your academic qualifications" 3. DATES - Closes 31 December 2026, in 70 days. - On the date, the listing says: The portal shows the closing time as '01/Jan/2027, 12:59:00 AM' at GMT+2, which is 31 December 2026 at 22:59 UTC, so treat 31 December 2026 as the last day. FAO keeps no roster, so if you are not picked before the call closes you apply again to the next call. - Aim to send it by 28 December 2026. Websites slow down near a deadline, and data runs out. (our advice) 4. WHAT IT COSTS YOU - Nothing to apply. You pay your own accommodation at the duty station. A job never asks you to pay to apply. A listing that charges shows the fee above, and it is paid only to the organisation. If anyone asks for money any other way, stop, and tell us: hello@qualifyafrica.com
