This checklist: https://qualifyafrica.com/o/oead-ernst-mach-grant-worldwide-2027-28-own
Built only from what the listing states. Lines marked (our advice) are ours.
The application takes real work, by our reading.

1. CHECK YOURSELF AGAINST WHAT THEY ASK
[ ] any nationality except Austrian, not resident or mainly educated in Austria
[ ] aged 35 or under at the start of the stay
[ ] a PhD student at a university outside Austria, or a postdoc or lecturer who finished studies or works outside Austria
[ ] a signed supervision confirmation from a professor at an Austrian university, plus letters of recommendation

2. WHAT TO GET READY
An online form; it names no documents. Some forms do not save as you go, so set aside time to do it in one sitting.
In their words: "Online application in the OeAD grants database, in English or German"

3. DATES
- Closes 1 December 2026, in 40 days.
- Aim to send it by 28 November 2026. Websites slow down near a deadline, and data runs out. (our advice)

A job never asks you to pay to apply. A listing that charges shows the fee above, and it is paid only to the organisation. If anyone asks for money any other way, stop, and tell us: hello@qualifyafrica.com
