This checklist: https://qualifyafrica.com/o/takealot-search-software-engineer-2026
Built only from what the listing states. Lines marked (our advice) are ours.
The application takes real work, by our reading.

1. CHECK YOURSELF AGAINST WHAT THEY ASK
[ ] Must be able to live and work in South Africa
[ ] Hold a Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering, or have equivalent practical experience
[ ] Have 5 to 10 years in a software development role building scalable backend systems

2. WHAT TO GET READY
[ ] CV or resume (One or two pages. No CV yet? Our CV starter builds a plain one from your answers.)
[ ] Cover or motivation letter (Short, written for this one: why this, what you have done that fits.)
In their words: "The employer's online form asks for uploads: Resume/CV (required), Cover Letter (optional)."

3. DATES
- No closing date is stated.
- Openings with no closing date can close once they have enough people, so sooner is safer. (our advice)

A job never asks you to pay to apply. A listing that charges shows the fee above, and it is paid only to the organisation. If anyone asks for money any other way, stop, and tell us: hello@qualifyafrica.com
