Who may apply
  • a founder running an early-stage startup, pre-Series B and founded in the last 10 years
  • the self-funded Founders tier gives 1,000 to 5,000 US dollars and you apply directly; the 200,000 US dollar tier needs your startup to be backed by an AWS Activate Provider such as an accelerator or venture fund; you also need an AWS account on a paid plan

Credits to spend on AWS, not cash. Amazon Web Services gives early-stage startups cloud credits to build on, and you keep all of your equity. A self-funded or bootstrapped founder can apply directly for the Activate Founders tier, which starts at 1,000 US dollars and goes up to 5,000. A startup backed by an AWS Activate Provider such as an accelerator or venture fund can get up to 200,000. Applying is a direct online form and there is no fee to apply.

What they ask for

Get ready to apply

Built only from what this listing states.

A short application, by our reading.

1. What to get ready

The listing does not say what it needs. When you open their page, write down everything it asks for before you start.

2. Dates

  • No closing date is stated.
  • Openings with no closing date can close once they have enough people, so sooner is safer. Our advice

Download checklist (.txt) Send to WhatsApp

The download is a small text file. You can read it later without data. It also lists each condition they set, so you can tick yourself against them. WhatsApp sends the same list to you, or to somebody helping you.

No CV yet? Make a plain one from your answers. Nothing you type is kept.

Tips for applying for credits and tools

General advice from us, the same for every tools. It is not what this organisation says; that is above.

  • Check what the credits cover, how long they last, and what happens when they run out.
  • Check whether you need a registered business or a project to apply.
  • Say what you will build with them.

All our tips and messages to copy. Practise answering, with nothing kept. Received an offer? Check whether it is real, then read before you say yes.

How to apply

You apply on Amazon Web Services's own website, not here. We never send an application for anybody and we never ask you for anything to pass on. Check their page for anything not shown here.
